How We Work

We use several different venues when working with our Clients and Customers. Some of our sessions are conducted over the internet, some over the telephone, and some in person, depending on the segment of our business and the location of our Clients.

Professional Coaching Division

The majority of our Health and Life Coaching, both with individuals and with groups, is done over the telephone. This provides the ultimate privacy and convenience, and is the least expensive way for you to participate (at today’s gas prices!). Plus, you can come to your session in your jammys and fuzzy slippers, if that’s the way you work best!

We partner with our Virtual e-Coaching Clients to conduct their coaching sessions strictly over the internet by using the Client Web Tool, except for the initial Intake Session, which is conducted by telephone. Of course, our coaching Clients under the other programs also have access to the Client Web Tool as an extension of their coaching program.

Some of our Individual Coaching with local Clients can be done in person, but only a very small portion is done that way. Usually, even with local Clients, the telephone and internet work best.

Natural Products Division

Customers of our natural products primarily use our websites to place their product orders over the internet 24/7, at the time most convenient for them. This method is also their favorite way to contact us with a question or request.

We work one-on-one with our product Customers over the telephone, if that is their preference. Much of our follow-up with Customers is done over the telephone.

Some of our local product Customers may choose to get their products in person, directly from our office, but only a small portion of our product business is done that way.

Educational Forums Division

We make in-person speaking appearances to convey wellness information to various groups such as civic organizations, PTA’s, school assemblies, brown bag luncheons at company offices, scout troops, fitness centers/gyms, senior centers, assisted living centers, etc.

The internet provides an additional venue for educational WebCast sessions from time to time. This media allows us to show a presentation or tour a website with participants while talking with them over the internet connection.

Some of the educational sessions can also be conducted as TeleSeminars over the telephone from time to time to educate people on various wellness-related topics so they can evaluate the information and make their own informed decisions.

So How Do We Work with Our Coaching Clients?

First and foremost, our coaching focus is about YOU.

We partner with you to form a closely-knit team. We help you create a vision of the healthy state you want to achieve, work to identify and clarify your agenda and your goals, and break them down into manageable steps. Then, I gently hold you accountable for achieving the ones you commit to.

Together, we form a team with a close relationship that encourages open communication and a synergy that individuals alone cannot create. I will act as your guide on your journey of self-discovery and transformation to uncover the beautiful, healthy person living within you.

As a Professional Health Coach, I am able to live out my passion. My greatest joy comes from supporting and encouraging Clients to achieve their goals and celebrate their successes.

My belief is that, in order to make a positive, permanent change, you’re going to have to get uncomfortable. You have to be willing to work, to be open to change and to make this a high priority in your life. You will make this as hard or as easy as you like. It’s up to you.

This is not medicine, therapy, or business coaching. It is an opportunity for you to grow and discover areas within yourself you never knew were there. It will show you strengths you never thought you possessed.

The methods we use are scientifically-proven change techniques to help you achieve success in reaching your goals. These methods are approved and used by groups such as the National Cancer Institute and the National Institute of Drug Abuse.

We utilize the teachings of Dr James Prochaska who spent many years researching what makes people change for good. Most coaching and ‘change’ programs are designed to get people immediately into action, but according to Dr Prochaska, action is the fourth step to change. If a person is not adequately prepared to take action, change may not happen at all or it may be short-lived.

Our Health Coaching program is designed to assess the stage of change you are currently in, and to meet you at that stage and begin our journey from that point. We will work through the stages of change together. This approach dramatically increases the odds that you will be able to make permanent changes.

We guide you in a step-by-step program to set achievable goals, offer feedback, provide motivation and support, and empower you to create permanent change in your life.

Getting your health under control will open doors for you that show you that poor health is no longer an option. You will be surprised how small health improvements translate into big lifestyle improvements. Ultimately, it will give you the tools to change many other aspects in your life, and will give you the freedom, time and money to pursue your passions in life.

Using the co-active coaching approach means that we develop your customized plan together. You already have all the answers that will help you achieve your goals! With my help, you will create a vision of the healthy state you want, then I’ll help you design the fulfillment of that vision and the steps to take you there.

I’ll ask you questions that encourage you to look at obstacles that get in your way and why you make the decisions you do.

Through a unique step-by-step process, you will be provided with support, educational resources, tools and one-on-one motivation to achieve your goals.

When you commit to working with us, you can expect to discover the secrets to achieving a more balanced, healthy life.

We believe that Health Coaching should be a guilt-free, no-nag zone where your personal well-being is the number one priority. You will get a gentle push whenever you need to be pushed, and be supported when you need support.

Your success is the most important thing to me and I will always focus on the positive, instead of the negative. Not that I won’t give you a ‘call to action’ if you’re not progressing, but I will do it in a way that maintains your dignity, so you don’t have to fear our coaching sessions, even if you didn’t accomplish what you set out for that week.

Helping you simplify your life is another of our primary areas of focus. Almost everyone is busy with ‘to do’ lists that never quite get done. As your Coach, I will work with you, the Client, to identify tasks that can be reduced, commitments that can be streamlined, and methods to increase efficiency in all aspects of your life.

I often hear the phrase ‘There just aren’t enough hours in the day!’ Experience has taught me that often this ‘lack of time’ is tied closely to a lack of energy. Fatigue is not only a component of illness, it now seems to be part of our everyday lives. When a person lacks energy to accomplish everyday tasks, they can easily fall behind, which increases stress and the feeling of being overwhelmed, further decreases their energy, and may even cause depression.

This focus area will examine the areas in the Client’s life which drain energy and together, we will create a plan to minimize the effect of these areas. In addition, I will work with you to find sources of positive energy and develop ways that increase your exposure to positive energy sources. Imagine what it will feel like to have ‘more hours in your day’!

Almost any illness or health condition can be improved through changes in daily habits. Examples of these changes include improved nutrition, increased exercise, improved sleep and rest, and reduced stress. The Coaching process assists the Client in setting feasible goals, creating a supportive environment and generating motivation to make the changes necessary for improved health.

As shown above, most of our coaching is done by telephone and internet to ensure efficient use of your time and to maintain confidentiality.

Individual (One-on-One) Coaching

Individual Health Coaching is a process that provides very effective support for anyone who has set a goal and failed to achieve it, or failed to make it a permanent change.

So why do you need me as your Coach? I work together with Clients to help them:

  • identify and reach goals they may have been struggling with in the past.
  • figure out what’s important to them
  • set an action plan
  • uncover blocks that may have hindered them in the past
  • make sure they have support that helps them stay on track
  • establish how they’d like to be held accountable to their action steps
  • ensure that the goals they’ve reached remain permanent, so they don’t slip back to their old habits and end up back where they started

When we do your free 30-minute Coaching session, you will gain more understanding of how the process works and can decide whether it feels right for you.

Our goals for individual Health Coaching include:

  • Accomplish much more than you have in the past on your own, and feel a greater sense of success
  • Become aware of the things that will promote your health, and be able to easily let go of the things that won’t
  • Teach you to discover how to make a healthier decision when faced with challenging choices. These will become skills that will be lifetime tools for you to use whenever the situation arises.
  • Teach you the process of change so you can apply this process to other areas of your life after your coaching is complete.

What would we talk about, if I were your Coach?

  • Whatever it takes to help you take action and produce results.
  • Sometimes talk about goals, strategy, or establishing boundaries
  • Set up systems to ensure that you get what you need to stay motivated
  • Fortify other areas of your life that serve as the foundation of change
  • Develop a plan to establish the support network and the environment you need to assure your success
  • Implement methods to overcome relapse
  • Identify stale habits and mindsets that you need to ‘let go’ of in order to excel
  • Celebrate your achievements
  • Reverse your setbacks

There is a series of steps that we take as we start and continue our Individual Coaching journey. They include:

  • Complimentary introductory Coaching session (30 minutes, no charge, no obligation)
    • This session will take place over the phone. I will call you at the pre-arranged time, at the phone number you give me.
    • The purpose of the complimentary 30-minute coaching session is to provide an opportunity for you to experience what coaching is and what working with me is like.
  • You will determine whether you see the value in a coaching program that is customized for you.
    • If you decide you are not ready to begin a coaching program at that time, I would still welcome you as a product customer and you can still benefit from the information that is available from this and other websites.
    • If you choose to move forward with the coaching, together we will choose the best Coaching Program for your needs.
    • You will be asked to sign a Coaching Agreement form that I will fax or email to you. The Agreement outlines the coaching package you selected, which defines the number of coaching sessions per month, the number of months, and the cost. Both of us will sign the agreement.
    • You will be asked to obtain a licensed physician’s consent for you to begin the program. If you choose to not obtain that consent, you will be asked to sign a waiver of that consent. These forms are part of the Agreement.
    • There are questionnaires I ask that you fill out and return to me so I will have general information about you, your background and your goals.
    • I will send you an email invoice for your first month (or the discounted full amount if you choose to pay up front) and you can use PayPal’s safe and secure payment process.
  • Initial session (called the Intake Session)
    • Prior to the Intake Session, I will ask you to fill out and return to me a questionnaire that will help guide our work together.
    • When all completed forms have been received, we will create the schedule for your coaching sessions on days/times that work for both of us.
    • This Intake Session is also complimentary and is up to a $300 value.
    • The Intake Session is usually 1 – 1.5 hours long, based on your needs.
    • Part of the Intake Session will be for us to determine who would be best to support you during your change process.
    • At the end of this session, I will have a good picture of your overall situation, your main challenges, your most important goals, as well as necessary background information.
  • Health Coaching process
    • After the Intake Session, we will start the coaching process!
    • Our coaching sessions will be conducted over the phone. I will call you. They will occur at the frequency defined in our Agreement.
    • You will have unlimited email access to me, either by regular email or by using the Client Wellness Portal
    • The Client Wellness Portal that you have access to 24/7, will provide you a comprehensive health library, assessment tools, an online journal, tracking tools, customized exercise planning program, monitoring your progress toward your goals, and many other features. This powerful tool is included in your coaching program at no additional cost.
    • If special circumstances arise and the person designated as your support is not available or not able to help, I can provide an additional support avenue for you on a limited basis. ‘Just in Time’ 10-minute phone coaching sessions can be scheduled to fill this special need.
    • Prior to each session, you will be asked to fill out and send to me a ‘Call Focus Form’ so our sessions together are laser-focused and organized.
    • During our session, we’ll talk about your situation, your challenges, and the things that matter to you. After all, it’s all about your success. Since I do co-active coaching, we’ll brainstorm and explore how you can best overcome challenges, given your tools and the things accessible to you.
    • At the end of the session, you will have a specific action plan, including steps to take, resource materials and things to consider before our next session.
    • Together, we will celebrate your accomplishments!

Group Coaching

Health Coaching with groups of Clients over the telephone is a powerful and effective method for

  • Those who have already made strides in achieving their goals, to make rapid progress in improving their lives and ensuring that their new-found changes remain permanent
  • A complement to individual coaching
  • A post-individual-coaching follow-up
  • A way to benefit from Health Coaching that is less expensive for the Client.
  • The Client Wellness Portal with 24/7 access, will provide you a comprehensive health library, assessment tools, an online journal, tracking tools, customized exercise planning program, monitoring your progress toward your goals, and many other features, if you choose to add it to your Group Coaching program. This powerful tool can be included in your coaching program for only $30 per month additional cost.

Group Coaching sessions will usually have no more than eight participants and the participants will each call in at a specified day/time to a conference line set up by the Coach. There will be a long-distance cost associated with the call.
